Hello There

Hi! I’m Jonathan Poritsky. I’m a motion graphics artist and editor in Austin, Texas. I also write about stuff on the internet, like ways to make complicated software seem more personal. One time I helped some screenwriters build a replacement for Final Draft called Fountain. And I even won a contest for directing a very short film you can watch right here when you have 85 seconds to spare.

I’ve made graphics for a bunch of commercials, like this CenturyLink spot, or this one for Smoothie King. A television series I online edited, Ocean’s 8, won the Best Ocean Travel Series at the 2008 Santa Barbara Ocean Film Festival.

Want to make some cool stuff together? Or just chat about movies? Be in touch. Email is best, but you can get to me via any of the networks listed below.

People Say Things

“Jonathan Poritsky…is a blogger of amazing energy.”
Roger Ebert

“Poritsky, Arts Editor at Heeb Magazine, can always be relied upon to deliver an unvarnished opinion of a film festival, a world where expectations and peer pressure often play an unseen but powerful role in shaping discourse.”
Matt Singer, IndieWire

“In the end it was Jonathan Poritsky’s short film ‘Process’…that took the prize — selected for astutely and skillfully interpreting the idea of ‘life as performance’ through a simple and beautifully shot monologue…”
Caroline Stanley, Flavorwire
