As I’ve been honing my photographic skills, I’ve started to notice the great photography that surrounds us more and more. While perusing the Phillies website today, I noticed this crop of Jayson Werth. I love grain in photos. While film grain is my true love, digital grain has found a place in my heart recently. A clean chip and a nice lens will let you make some really nice crops, and this one is no exception.

I particularly like that this pic just looks dirty, like it was peeled off a frat house floor, however we are not unable to look at the pic. Werth’s is obviously focused on running, but the pic cuts through to some of his emotions. This is a team that works its ass off and has incredible bats, but the pitching can never hold on to the leads which the sluggers provide. As Werth runs out his homer, you an see almost a trepidation that pitcher Adam Eaton won’t protect the lead he has provided.

The game rapidly turned from 6–0 to 6–5, so Werth would have a point. In any evet, it’s a great pic and I wanted to share it with you folks.
